PCC Chief DS Praises Megastar Chiru

Perhaps sensing the Congress high command’s desire for a possible tie-up with the Praja Rajyam, the PCC chief Mr D. Srinivas showered Mr Chiranjeevi with praises on Thursday. The Congress might need Mr Chiranjeevi’s support if Kadapa MP, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, leaves the party with his trusted legislators.








Mr Srinivas chose Chiru’s inaugural address during his party’s plenary session at Vizag on Wednesday to walk the extra mile to heap praises on him. “Chiranjeevi is a big star in Tollywood, and now as Praja Rajyam captain, he has become politically mature,” Mr Srinivas said.

“Chiranjeevi said his party would launch agitations against the anti-people policies of the government, thus behaving like a responsible and constructive opposition,” said Mr Srinivas, adding that this was what Opposition parties have to do. “Mr Chiranjeevi further said his party might be compelled to support the government in the event of any political exigency, and in the interest of the state,” said Mr Srinivas and added there was nothing objectionable in what Mr Chiranjeevi had said.

The PCC chief simultaneously wanted to send a message to the Congress rank and file that criticising Chiru was a no-no.
