The political party former MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy proposes to float would have no impact on the Congress in Andhra Pradesh, Chief minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy said Tuesday.
Jagan, as the son of late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy is popularly known, recently quit the Congress, alleging that it was trying to divide his family by luring his uncle with a ministerial berth.
State Congress chief D. Srinivas also said the party faced no threat from any new party.
“In a democracy any individual can form a party,” said Srinivas. He, however, termed Jagan’s decision as “unfortunate”.
Stating that Jagan’s party will have no impact on the Congress, he pointed out that Chiranjeevi and Jayaprakash Narayan also launched their parties in the recent past but the Congress remained unaffected.
