Boston, Jan 21: Larry Page is the man of the moment and he will be handling the reins of the world's biggest search engine, Google as CEO. Taking over the baton from Eric Schimdt, Larry Page will take over the ever-expanding Goggle and will bring to the table his wide experience as the co-founder of Google.
Larry Page is one of the co-founders of Google and has played a major part in elevating Google to a level it stands today. Eric Schidmt became CEO in 2001 and built Google along with the two co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. “Page will take charge of Google’s day-to-day operations as Chief Executive Officer starting Apr 4. Brin will focus on strategic projects, in particular working on new products,” Schmidt revealed through his blog spot.
Goggle has converted into an establishment that has grown bigger and bigger over the years and has been instrumental in revolutionizing the way the world trawled for information on the Internet. Google takes special credit for its Pagerank feature that gives an indicator of the popularity of various websites on the World Wide Web. The PageRank technology was created by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were still attending Stanford University.
“We’ve been talking about how best to simplify our management structure and speed up decision making for a long time. By clarifying our individual roles, we’ll create clearer responsibility and accountability at the top of the company,” Schmidt clarified on the role-change.
Commenting on the management change, Page said: “Eric has clearly done an outstanding job leading Google for the last decade...we are only at the beginning and I can’t wait to get started.”
Finally, we guess Google has refreshed the (Larry) page rank and will bring more 'refreshing' changes to the ever-popular Google.
