A day after the brutal killing of a senior manager of a private steel plant at Titlagarh, police on Friday detained two persons while the Orissa government sought a report from the district administration and police.
"We have detained two persons. They are being interrogated," northern range DIG R P Koche said.
Some people are likely to be arrested soon, he said.
Koche was camping in the district since the incident took place last afternoon.
R S Roy, deputy general manager (Operations) of Graphite India Ltd-Powmex steel division died yesterday when his car was set ablaze by agitating employees outside the factory, about 75 km from here.
Meanwhile, the plant authorities have shut down the factory for the day as a mark of respect to the DGM, Koche said.
The state government asked the district administration to thoroughly probe the matter and ensure that the culprits were arrested.
