Rupee strong against dollar

MUMBAI: The dollar ended cheaper against the rupee at Rs 49.19/20 per dollar and the Pound Sterling also finished lower at Rs 77.76/78 per pound at the close of the Interbank Foreign Exchange market (Forex) here today.
