Defining a cool car is not easy. Is it a 200mph supercar or the supermini? Maybe it is the car your grandfather owned, or the car you first bought when you passed your test.
The problem is, cool is so subjective. So, after much civilised debate, hair pulling and staring out of windows, we have listed our 30 coolest cars of all time.
Of course, you might not agree at all with our selection. Which is fine, because we want you to have your say as well on what cars should be in the cool hall of fame...
Porsche Carrera GT
Hypercars don't get much cooler than this. The Carrera GT could compete with anything made
by the Italians and was just as beautiful.
Ford Capri MK1
Ford's crack at the muscle car market, except the Capri could actually handle corners unlike
its American cousins.
Original Mini
A classic that could teach modern car design a thing or two about efficient use of space.
Bugatti Veyron
This may not be the most affordable car in our cool car line-up but it's certainly the
fastest, 0-60mph 2.5 seconds, top speed 253mph.
Corvette Z06 / ZR1
The Z06 is more racecar than regular Corvette, and made from carbon fibre and balsawood. The ZR1 is super fast. Both are bargains. Cool.
Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss
Oddball run-out McMerc SLR has no roof at all and is named after the best racing driver to
never win an F1 crown. Genius.
Aston Martin Vanquish S
The Vanquish bows out in illustrious style but will never be forgotten.
BMW M1
The M1 was BMW's first (and only) attempt at a supercar. Stunning looks and a 273bhp motor make this a collectors favorite.
VW Golf GTi MKI
Five generations of GTi later and this one is still the best.
BMW Z1
Car magazine once described it as "the car the Red Baron would drive". Enough said.
Lamborghini Miura
Truly akin to a beautiful woman, the Miura was gorgeous to look at but could easily trap the unwary into doing things they would regret.
Bentley S1 Continental
This car is so achingly cool it is enough to make even the most ardent anarchist pack up and open a sweet shop. Sadly, you really have to be a movie star (like Nicolas Cage) to carry this car off.
Citroen DS
Half a century on this stunning design still has the power to stop people in their tracks.
Koenigsegg Agera
Ferrari-schmarri. Buy a true exotic - like the Koenigsegg Agera. Beautiful carbon construction, stupendous power, and the maddest doors on the planet.
Ford Mustang
The original pony car with an option list to please everyone from grandma to her delinquent grandson.
