New Gangajal with Maanyata Dutt Item number Alhad mast jawani

After the success of Rajneeti, director Prakash Jha is all set to redo his earlier movie Gangajal in a new avatar. The new Gangajal will feature high quality sound and visuals with blue ray digital quality.

The 2003 movie Gangajal directed by Prakash Jha featured Ajay Devgn, Gracy Singh, and Mukesh Tiwari. Ajay Devgn did the role of SP Amit Kumar, who is given charge of the Tejpur District in Bihar. The movie was famous for the script which contained abusive language typically used by police and criminals. The movie also has an item song performed by Mrs Maanyata Dutt who was known as Dilnawaz Shaikh then, titled "Alhad mast jawani".

Gaangajal was selected for the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues 2004.
