
According to the report, Congress is the richest party in India with an aggregate income of Rs.1,518 crore earned during 2002-2009.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes second with Rs. 754 crore and the Bahujan Samaj Party third with Rs. 358 crore earnings.
Interestingly BSP had income of Rs. 6 crore in 2002-2003, its income went up to Rs.182 crore in 2009-2010 to become the fastest growing partyin India in terms of income.
The greatest growth average of total assets in this period from 2002-2009 is BSP (59 per cent), Nationalist Congress Party (51 per cent) and the SP (44 per cent).
