9-year-old molested by teacher

HYDERABAD: A 55-year-old teacher of a private school at Kukatpally allegedly misbehaved with a girl student of the school yesterday. As the incident came to light today,  angry parents and relatives of the girl staged a demonstration at the school and beat up the teacher and handed him over to the police.The nine-year-old  girl is a class III student of Pragya  school at Allwyn Colony. She is the daughter of Balachander, a mason, who also resides in the same locality. Kukatpally police said the teacher Antony Xavier stays in a  room close to the school.  After  the school hours,  Xavier reportedly lured the girl to his room and misbehaved with her.  When the parents came to know about the incident,  the girl’s father along with the locals and relatives staged a protest demanding action against the teacher.  They also beat up the teacher before handing him over to the police. Kukatpally police inspector K Srinivas Rao said a case  was registered and the principal arrested. The school management reportedly tried to wash their hands off  from the incident  claiming that the incident took place outside the school premises.
