Hyderabad, Jan 16 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief MinisterN Kiran Kumar Reddy has directed the District Collectors topay an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 lakh to the families of thedeceased from the state and provide medical treatment to theinjured. About 23 Ayyappa pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh died inthe stampede at Uppupara near Vandiperiyar in Kerala on Fridaywhile 19 persons were injured. The bodies of the deceased which were flown fromKerala were received by the relatives at the airport todaywhile the injured were admitted to various hospitals in thecity. The administration had made arrangements at theairport to receive the bodies and also to send them totheir respective districts. Some state minister also visited the airport toconsole the families of the deceased.

HYDERABAD: As part of his Bharat Swabhiman yatra which commenced at Dwaraka in Gujarat on September 2, 2010, Baba Ramdev would conduct the Andhra Pradesh leg of his yatra for about 11 days between March 10 and 20 this year.According to a press release, the yatra, which was initiated by Baba Ramdev with a vision to re-create India as a healthy, financially credible, corruption- free and a spiritually strong nation, has already crossed several states and districts educating people irrespective of age, gender, religion, caste and creed on the importance of leading a principled life through the practice of yoga.Baba Ramdev will organise yoga training programmes (Yoga camp) daily between 5 am and 7.30 am during his tour in the state and addresses huge gatherings for about oneand- a-half hour (from 2 pm to 3.30 pm).Twenty highly qualified Ayurvedic doctors will also be part of the yatra and free medical check-ups will be organised near the yoga camp.The Bharat Swabhiman trust took the initiative of creating model villages where inhabitants lead a principled life by quitting unhealthy habits and harmful addictions and adopting healthy practices like regular practice of yoga and maintaining clean surroundings free from pollution.The yatra will commence from Vizianagaram on March 10 followed by Visakhapatnam (March 11), East Godavari (Kakinada) (Mar 12), Khammam (Mar 13), Warangal (Mar 14), Karimnagar (Mar 15), Adilabad (Mar 16), Nizamabad (Mar 17), Medak (Sanga Reddy) (Mar 18), Ranga Reddy (Tandur) (Mar 19) and Hyderabad (Mar 20).Haridwar’s Patanjali Yog samiti chief central coordinator Acharya Sumanji and AP’s chief state coordinator G Sridhar Rao will be the main speakers.
