NEW DELHI: After beating about the bush for more than a week, the government finally gave a clear hint that the decision on the joint parliamentary probe on 2G spectrum scam will be taken by February 23. The government, however, ruled out the possibility of widening the scope of such a JPC to investigating corruption in the Commonwealth Games or the Adarsh Housing Society case. The reason given was that parliamentary rules “do not permit an umbrella resolution” bunching all the scams together.Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, during his pre-budget session interactions with the media, on Friday admitted that “a decision on the JPC will be taken by Wednesday.” He later said the JPC’s final shape and size may emerge out of Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar’s Sunday luncheon meet with all political parties.
