If all the dancing that happened at Lara and Mahesh's sangeet last night is any indication to go by, then Mr and Mrs Bhupathi, and all their friends, have completely soaked themselves in the spirit of Goa.
While Mahesh and Lara arrived in Goa on Thursday, their friends started arriving yesterday. The venue for the sangeet was done up in a white floral theme and preparations took all afternoon. Mahesh's close friend Leander Paes was among one of the first ones to arrive with wife Rhea Pillai, and Rohit Rajpal from Delhi joined them soon after. Later in the evening, Raveena Tandon Thadani and hubby Anil Thadani arrived and our source adds that Raveena also performed a number on stage. Riteish Deshmukh accompanied the Thadanis to the venue along with Manav Gangwani.
Others seen at the sangeet include Sheetal Mallar, Aki Narula, Wendell Rodricks, Bikram Saluja and choreographer Lubna Adams among others. There was a fireworks display, followed by Mahesh's boys team and Lara's girls team competing on stage.
While the boys performed to "Zor Ka Jhatka", "Maa Da Ladla" and "Gal Mitthi Mitthi Bol", the girls danced to "Sheila Ki Jawani", "Kajraare" and "Aisa Jadoo Dala Re".
