Bharti Airtel Q3 cons net profit down 1.5% at Rs 1011 crBharti Airtel , country's largest telecom player, reported a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 1011 crore in the October-December quarter of FY12, a fall of 1.5% as compared to Rs 1,027 crore in previous quarter, as per International Financia
l Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Net income was impacted by higher tax provisioning in the quarter ended December FY12. Tax rate was at 32.5% during the quarter.
Total revenues for the third quarter rose 7% to Rs 18,477 crore from Rs 17,269.8 crore quarter-on-quarter.
Consolidated EBITDA margin declined at 32.2% versus 33.7% QoQ.
Numbers were less than analysts' expectations; CNBC-TV18 poll saw net profit of Rs 1,360 crore, revenues of Rs 18,500 crore and EBITDA at 34.4%.
Average revenue per user (ARPU) was at Rs 187 a month while average usage stood at 419 minutes per month.
Debt-equity ratio of the company was at 1.38 versus 1.33 QoQ.
Bharti reported 3G license fee amortisation of Rs 164 crore.
Africa Division
Revenues from its Africa division stood at USD 1.06 bilion and loss of USD 52 million.
ARPUs stood at USD 7.10/month.
