After a grand Maharashtrian and a quiet church wedding, Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh threw a lavish party to wrap up the four-day long wedding celebration. Many stalwarts of the film industry were present to wish the newly-wed couple. A forever smiling Genelia looked resplendent in a peach-and-gold ensemble, while Riteish looked dapper in a bandhgala at the reception hosted at the Grand Hyatt, Santacruz, Mumbai. One of the highlights of the evening was Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, who accompanied her in-laws Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. Among other veteran actors, Dilip Kumar and Rekha also attended the do. Kareena Kapoor came in with beau Saif Ali Khan, and was seen spending time with her father Randhir Kapoor. They also bonded with Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. It was nice to see the ’90s brigade — Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla — walk in with their husbands. Bipasha Basu, Sushmita Sen, Anushka Sharma, Ameesha Patel, Arshad Warsi, Jiah Khan, Arjun and Mehr Rampal, Imran Khan and Avantika Malik were also present.
Mithun Chakraborty came in with son Mahaakshay, while Shekhar Suman had company in son Adhyayan and his wife Alka. Sajid Khan walked in with Jacqueline Fernandes. Riteish’s close friends, Farah Khan and her husband Shirish Kunder, however, decided to give the bash a miss. They were perhaps still reeling from the effects of the last bash Shirish attended.
