Gurgaon: Going off-road just became easier. No more booking ATVs and dirt bikes from the US and Europe on blind faith. Adventure Wheels, India's first adventure sports store, aims to bring the adrenaline to the junkies.
The store, located in Gurgaon, offers on all kinds of adventure sports gear, accessories and utilities from well-known brands such as Tamiya from Japan and Fox from USA. Thrill-seekers can get themselves all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), dirt bikes and remote-controlled cars, whereas, those with modelling at heart can buy high-speed modelling cars, tanks, monster trucks and even fighter jets.
Adventure Wheels is the brain-child of Ashish Bahl, a 33-year-old mechanical engineer and a businessman. According to Bahl, himself an adventure sports lover, opening this store is only the beginning. He says this is the first step towards giving enthusiasts easy access to world-class gear, something that has been lacking in the country so far. And like a true entrepreneur, Bahl places the customer first.
"At Adventure Wheels one can buy the product after verifying it quality," Bahl says, "Earlier buyers had to rely on random imports to get an ATV or a dirt-bike without actually checking the quality, and that, too, at a much higher cost. We are excited to offer the ATV customer a huge selection, great prices and convenience of Adventure Wheels' unique shopping experience."
What works for Adventure Wheels, Bahl says, is the fact that the products sold at the store are durable, have long warranties and minimal defects. The brand has been a success: It's sold more than 200 ATVs even before the launch of the store.
And on a parting note, Bahl says Adventure Wheels plans to build a strong distribution of networks so that its products are available thoughout the country. And if you are the kind that loves the great outdoors, this can only be good news.
