Sports icons of India ON 63RD Independence Day

India@63 finds itself embellished by sport stars that have won accolades for the country in various sporting categories. In hockey India found the wizardry of Dhyanchand, while in athletics, 'the flying Sikh' Milkha Singh kept the Indian flag flying high.

The 1983 World Cup win under the captaincy of Kapil Dev made cricket a rage in the country, overtaking hockey as the national game. Then cricket gave us Sachin Tendulkar, and from a rage the game turned into an overwhelming passion.
