Tollywood actor Ravi Teja’s brothers Bharat and Raghu Babu and their associate Naresh were arrested by the Banjara Hills police on Thursday while they were allegedly buying cocaine from a Nigerian national, Cheema Claymen.The police reportedly seized eight grams of cocaine from the trio and 51 grams of cocaine from the Nigerian after nabbing them at Road No. 3 in Banjara Hills. Sources said the actor’s brothers had gone to the drug peddler in a Ford-Panther Black bearing registration number AP 13 L 8999 and belonging to Ravi Teja. Police pounced on them while they were buying the cocaine from him.
Banjara Hills police has reportedly registered a case under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances against all the four. Investigation is on.
Two weeks ago, police had arrested a Nigerian national, who was found to be selling cocaine to an elite clientele in the city.
Okechukwa Ohazurike was trapped while trying to sell the stuff at the Jubilee bus stand in Secunderabad. Sleuths seized more than 200 grams of cocaine from his house in Defence Colony. Another drug peddler was also taken into custody around the same time.
Special teams of the police had been tailing drug addicts for a while to nab peddlers who were operating from various locations.
Sleuths had been keeping an eye on hotels, pubs, college campuses and other place where addicts had been meeting drug pushers.
