Luntik, a three-month-old kitten with four ears, looks on in Russia's far eastern city of Vladivostok. There are no ear canals in Luntik's second pair of ears. The kitten lives at an automobile service station.

We have watched him sway to the antics of a snake charmer in his golden brown form, but here is an odd phenomenon - white ones. Two-week-old Sri Lankan Albino cobras move at the National Zoological Gardens in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Venus (L), a Chihuahua missing its front legs, stands next to her brother in Port Washington, New York. Three Chihuahuas, each missing their front legs, have been given a chance at life by the North Shore Animal League America. The organization, the world's largest no-kill rescue and adoption group, is housing them with foster parents until they are adopted, and will also pay for their medical fees.

An albino baby turtle swims with green sea babies turtle in a pond at Khram Island, about 30 km from Pattaya, east of Bangkok. Special care is given to around 15,000 green and hawksbill baby turtles hatched and housed at the navy's conservation centre each year. Once the baby turtles' shells are big and strong enough to protect them from various predators at about six-months-old the young turtles are released to the sea.

Zorse 'Eclyse', a zebra-horse hybrid foal is pictured in the Safari park in Holte-Stukenbrock near the western German city of Bielefeld. One-year-old Eclyse was accidentally produced when her mother a zebra, was taken from her German safari park home to a ranch in Italy for a brief time. Eclyse, who was born in Italy, has stripes on her head and rear, while the body and her legs are white.

Uthen Youngprapakorn, executive director of Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo, looks at a pair of newly-born rare baby crocodile twins, joined at the hips, southeast of Bangkok. The Thai farm, home to many thousands of fresh water crocodiles which are both on display to the public and also killed for their skin and meat, is appealing for international help to save the reptiles.

Bahier, a male liger, is pictured in his enclosure at the private zoo "Arche Noah" in the village of Groemitz on the Baltic Sea coast. The liger, a result of a breeding of a male lion and a female tiger, was born in the 31-year old private zoo in 1990.

A woman holds a baby tortoise with two heads in Havana. The tortoise was found some days ago on a river bank at the city forest. According to scientists of the local aquarium who inspected the animal, it seems to be perfectly healthy.
