Indian wrestler Mausam Khatri won a bronze in the men’s freestyle 96 kg category while Rajiv Tomar and Nirmala Devi crashed out in their categories in the Asian Games here Thursday.
Mausam got the better of Jaegang Kim of South Korea 3-1 in the bronze medal play-off to get India its third bronze in the sport.
Mausam defeated Syrian Alkarrad Raja 3-1 in the repechage round.
Earlier, the Indian lost 1-3 to Taimuraz Tigiyev of Kazakhstan in the pre-quarterfinals and was moved to the repechage round.
The other Indian wrestlers in the fray bowed out in the earlier rounds.
Rajeev lost 1-3 to Aiaal Lazarev of Kyrgystan in the 120kg freestyle pre-quarterfinals.
Nirmala, a silver medallist at the Delhi Commonwealth Games, lost 1-3 to Zhuldyz Eshimova of Kazakhstan in the 48kg women’s pre-quarterfinals.
The other two Indian bronze medal winners are Ravinder Singh (60 kg) and Sunil Kumar (66 kg) in greco-roman category.
