Earlier a medical board constituted by a court said that the girl is 18-years-old. However, the girl had declared that she is 17-years-old (minor). If the court fails to determine the victim's age on Monday, then it should appoint another medical-board to decide the girl's age.
On the other hand the political drama is staged by the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the BJP, who is camping out side the victim's house to ensure she wont change the statement which she gave against the MLA and to seek justice for the victim.
SP claimed that they can take good care of the girl by taking her to a safer place. Meanwhile, BJP leader Smriti Irani pitched-in and tried to take the girl with her, but the police stopped her by doing so.
Irani said, "we are here today to support not only the girl and not only the family but also to ensure that those who have worked against the system get punished."
Uttar Pradesh Congress leader Rita Bahuguna slammed the Uttar Pradesh (UP) chief Minister Mayawati, by accusing that BSP party comprising criminals as politicians.
The Dalit minor girl was allegedly raped by MLA Dwivedi and later framed in a fake theft case and then jailed in Banda over a month. The victim was released from the Banda jail on Sunday, following the Allahabad High Court order to release the girl forthwith from jail unconditionally.
Mayawati asked the UP Home Minister to provide security for the rape victim, after Dwivedi's statement, “I would take revenge.”
