Bangalore: A JD-S corporator was shot dead by unidentified persons at Banashankari area of the city today, police said.Dewan Ali was in his office when about seven to eight persons barged in, assaulted him and his associates with lethal weapons and then opened fire, they said, adding the motive behind the assault is being investigated.
The Bangalore Police Commissioner says the corporator Diwan Ali was involved in criminal activities and was an accused in cases of attempt to murder, robbery and extortion.
Police say his rival Mahim and Ali had plans to kill each other - and both were warned by police.
