HYDERABAD: TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday demanded chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to transfer gazetted officers from Seemandhra, working in the commercial tax department at Hyderabad, to their home districts and replace them with Telangana officials.
Participating in a relay hunger strike, organised by Telangana Gazetted Officer's Association here, KCR said that in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, which were part of the sixth zone, 11 deputy commissioner posts were filled with officials from Andhra violating the six-point formula. KCR dared the chief minister to fill five posts with Telangana officials within 24 hours and prove that the government was sincere in implementing GO 610.
KCR also said that non-Telangana officials have been posted in as many as 33 circles out of 56 in Hyderabad, which were recognised as revenue potential areas. He demanded that at least 50 per cent of the territorial circles in seven divisions of Hyderabad be filled by Telangana officials in the cadre of commercial tax officers (CTOs) and deputy CTOs.
The Telangana Commercial Taxes Gazetted Officers' Association general secretary T Venkateswarlu alleged that non-Telangana deputy commissioners were prejudiced against Telangana officers and staff working under their control.
