Veteran director-writer-producer OP Dutta passed away in the wee hours of Friday morning. He was ill and admitted to Kokilaben hospital at 7 pm yesterday and breathed his last around post 12 am.
The filmmaker began his career in 1948 as a director of Pyaar Ki Jeet, followed by a number of as both director and writer which went on to become blockbusters, new Umrao Jaan being the latest. He penned down Border, Refugee and many films which were directed by his son JP Dutta.
