Mumbai: Woman's dead body found in swimming pool

Mumbai:  The dead body of a woman was found in the swimming pool of the ITC Grand Maratha Hotel located near the Mumbai airport on Wednesday.

"Indumati Subramaniam (40), Deputy General Manager with Vodafone Company in Chennai, was found dead this evening in the swimming pool of ITC Grand Maratha Hotel," said H P Lokhande, police inspector at Sahar Police Station.

"Indumati was noticed in the swimming pool by a man. She was rushed to nearby hospital where she was declared dead," he said.

The police have registered a case of accidental death but say investigations are on to see if any foul play was involved.

"We are investigating the matter from all possible angles, including murder angle," Lokhande said.

"If it is found that hotel management was negligent in any way, action would be taken against them," he said.

The woman had come to Mumbai for some training program from Chennai. (With PTI inputs)
